Presentation about British Home Children in Quebec

Gloria Tubman will deliver a presentation about the British Home Children in western Quebec at the Gatineau Valley Historical Society in Chelsea, Quebec on Monday evening, October 17.

Ms. Tubman will share her research expertise on tracing British Home Children, over 100,000 of whom came to Canada as child workers between 1869 and the 1940s. An overview of Home Children will be provided with a focus on one child who was placed in western Quebec and the resources used to trace the child’s life.

Refreshments will be served at 7:30 p.m., followed by the presentation at 8:00 p.m., at the Mill Road Community Space (former United Church), 8 chemin Mill. Everyone is welcome. Gatineau Valley Historical Society website.
