Canada’s top 10 Rockstar Genealogists

To paraphrase a line from Judy G. Russell, the International/USA/Genetic Rockstar Genealogist Gold award winner, I am in excellent company, eh.

John D. Reid yesterday announced the top ten 2016 Rockstar Genealogists for Canada, and I am pleased to see so many friends, must-see speakers, and must-read bloggers on the list with me.

If you are not already following these Canadian genealogists on Twitter and Facebook or reading their blogs or books, I encourage you to do so. Click on their name below to find their blog, website, or book, and click on their Twitter handle to follow them.

Congratulations to all! Visit the blog of our all-time favourite Rockstar Genealogist John D. Reid who keeps his name off the list of nominations — Canada’s Anglo-Celtic Connections — to see winners in other countries. You can also follow John on Twitter @JohnDReid.

On a personal note, if there is a way to encourage Glenn Wright to jump aboard the social media wagon so he can share his vast knowledge of Canadian and British military history with us, please share it.

Meanwhile, during the next year, let’s see what we and genealogy societies can do about encouraging, mentoring, and promoting genealogists in other provinces.
