There is still time to take advantage of the freebies Ancestry and Findmypast are each offering until Monday.
Ancestry
Ancestry.co.uk is offering free access to UK and Irish records until Monday, August 29 at 11:59 p.m. BST (6:59 p.m. Eastern time).
To view these records you need to register for free with Ancestry.co.uk with your name and email address. They will then send you a username and password to access the records. After the free access period ends, you will only be able to view the records in the featured collections using an Ancestry.co.uk paid membership. Findmypast

HI Thanks for all the great info but overtime you announce a freebee on an Ancestry site i can never access it. This time I tried twice, the first time I was directed to the 14 day free trial that needs a credit card and the second try I got transferred to the .ca site.
Maybe its me but the weekend things never seem to work.
Thanks
You are not the first who has told me they find it difficult to register for the free access. I’m a subscriber and cannot seem to test it, even when I log out. I have posted your query on the Genealogy a la carte Facebook group to see if anyone can help.
