NEHGS webinar about choosing a family tree software program

The New England Historic Genealogical Society (NEHGS) has produced a new webinar, Choosing a Genealogical Software Program, that has been recorded and is available to watch at your leisure.

This 45-minute webinar, presented by Rhonda McClure, is timely since a couple of software programs have been discontinued in the last 18 months.

The webinar, "Choosing a Genealogical Software Program," is available on the AmericanAncestors YouTube channel.

The purpose of the webinar is to help you make an informed decision about which software program to consider using. Ancestry’s decision to discontinue Family Tree Maker.

Ms. McClure looks at some of the more popular genealogy programs available: Ancestral Quest, Brother’s Keeper, Heredis, iFamily, Legacy, MacFamilyTree, Reunion, and RootsMagic.

You will learn how to select software that is right for you and how to transfer your files from an old program to a new one.

The webinar is available on the NEHGS’ AmericanAncestors YouTube channel.
