Southern Ontario genealogy workshop

Spend a day learning from three Ontario genealogists at the Eva Brook Donly Museum and Archives in Simcoe, Ontario on Saturday, November 7.

9:30 – 11:30 a.m. DNA for Genealogists – Dave Naylor.
Dave will offer a full rundown of how DNA can be used in your research, covering the variety of tests and available so that you know how to choose the right one. He will also introduce the companies that offer DNA testing for genealogist.

1:00 – 2:30 p.m. Tracking Your Ancestor Through Canadian Ports of Entry – Kathryn Lake Hogan.
Kathryn will show you where to look for various records and learn strategies for searching the available online ship passenger lists, immigration records and border crossing records.

2:45 – 4:15 p.m. Beyond the Estate File – Jane E. McNamara.
Jane will look at how to find an estate file and how it can lead to other important sources both inside and outside the court system.
