Nova Scotia Archives redesigns website

I like the new look of the Nova Scotia Archives updated website. Fresh, clean, and there are many popular topics listed at the bottom of the home page that make it easy to choose and discover resources.

Nova Scotia Archives announced its newly designed website November 6, 2015.

Nova Scotia Archives announced its newly designed website November 6, 2015.

Nova Scotia Archives says the new design makes “the screen display responsive to your many different devices – smart phones, tablets and computers, large and small. We’ve also updated all our background information to help you plan your first visit or your next visit, make best use of our services, and get started with your genealogy.”

The Archives asks for patience, warning the refreshed website may cause “some disruption to your bookmarks and website navigation patterns” as its turns on the new features. URLs have changed. They say it may take a couple of days to “get things settled.”

To find your usual favourites, use the search box on the home page.

Some of my favourite sections are Historical Vital Statistics (births, marriages and deaths — and still sporting the old design), Newspapers, Maps, and the recruitment posters in the WWI section.
