Genealogists not able to attend the RootsTech 2018 conference in Salt Lake City, February 28 to March 3, can download the presentation handouts by using the free mobile RootsTech app.
In addition to watching several live-streamed presentations from the comfort of your home, you can download dozens of handouts, save them to your computer, and print them.
The RootsTech mobile app, sponsored by WordPress, is now available for download from the App Store and the Google Play Store.
If you already have the 2017 version of the app installed on your device, you can access the 2018 content by:
1. Opening the RootsTech app
2. From the home screen, tap “Exit to Show List” in the bottom right corner
3. Select “RootsTech 2018”
Once you open the app, select the Conference Schedule icon. From there you can see the presentations for each day and timeslot.
Click on a presentation to open it, and scroll down to Handouts at the bottom.
When you click on the handout, you will see three ways to handle it: Take Notes, Download, and Email. For a quick look at the handout, select Take Notes. In my case, if I like what I see, I email it to myself so I can store it on my laptop.
Thanks to Celia L. for reminding me about the mobile app.
Thanks for pointing this out, Gail! I popped it onto a few FB pages, Twitter and Google+. I hope you’ll be attending and we’ll get a chance to meet. Where still on the flight to Salt Lake as we planned on getting here a couple of days early. Hope to see you soon!
I would love to attend, but won’t be doing so this year.
Fantastic tip. Thank you.
This app is really great! I live in England so I am unable to attend the lectures but with this app I am able get get a really good taste of the lectures through the downloaded PDF documents.
Thanks to all who organised this ?

🙂 Huzzah!
Thanks! You wrote a terrific blog post!
Unfortunately, if you don’t have a mobile phone or tablet, you can’t download the handouts as far as I can tell.
