In addition to holding material for every state in the US, NEHGS has one of the best collections of material outside Canada for Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland.
The 30-minute webinar, plus Q&A, is presented by NEHGS library director Jean Maguire.
While some NEHGS resources are now available online, a visit to our acclaimed research center in Boston can yield amazing results. Learn how best to prepare for your visit to our library and archive: search our online catalog, create a resource checklist, schedule an in-person consultation, request manuscript materials, and more.
I sure wish NEHGS had produced this webinar before I visited their beautiful building five years ago. The person at the front desk had no suggestions to offer me for researching my Massachusetts ancestors nor did she explain why I should consider joining. All she told me was to visit their book store. So, after a quick browse at the books, I went back to shopping on Newberry Street, which wasn’t a bad thing, albeit an expensive one.
