FamilySearch adds Ontario 1912 births

FamilySearch has added Ontario birth registrations for the year 1912. If you are only interested in seeing the 1912 registrations when searching the Ontario Births, 1869-1912 database, set the Birth Year from 1912 to 1912. Then enter every family name you can think of to see if an ancestor’s name appears in the results.

As for more recent Ontario marriage and death registrations on FamilySearch, it has been at least a couple of years since we’ve seen anything new in those record sets. You’ll have to subscribe to Ancestry to see the more recent marriage and death registrations and the 1913 births.

For an overview of which Ontario vital records are available and where you will find them online (free and by subscription) and on microfilm, the Archives of Ontario has assembled a list.

If people don’t want to subscribe to Ancestry, they can also visit their local public library and access Ancestry Library Edition to search the same Ontario birth, marriage and death registrations. Be sure to contact your library first!
