Author Anne Renaud will deliver a lecture about The Story of Grosse Île at the Quebec Family History Society’s monthly meeting on Saturday, April 25, at 10:30 a.m.
Ms. Renaud is a descendant of English, Irish, and French immigrants. Through the course of her research for her children’s book, Island of Hope and Sorrow: The Story of Grosse Île, she discovered that the ship on which her grandmother sailed to Canada in 1907 had made a stop at Grosse Île before the family settled in Richmond, Quebec.
The lecture will take place at Briarwood Presbyterian Church Hall, 70 Beaconsfield Blvd., Beaconsfield. Free admission.
