Blogger Vicky Lapointe has assembled an interesting collection of about two dozen photos of Quebec City, taken by engineer Clifford M. Johnston who took the photos while on vacation in the 1930s.
Mr. Johnston was an amateur photographer who immortalised Percé, Montebello, Rimouski, Montreal, Tadoussac and other towns in the province. His photos are held at Library and Archives Canada.
The selection of Quebec City photos can be seen in Ms. Lapointe’s blog post, Québec en photos 1930-1937. The captions are written in English. To read them, click on each photo. Ms. Lapointe has also written a few comments about the photos in French.
