Book of Negroes topic of UEL Nova Scotia Branch meeting

Loyalist author Stephen Davidson will speak about Sir Guy Carleton’s Book of Negroes: A Ledger’s Legacy at the spring meeting of Nova Scotia Branch of the United Empire Loyalists’ Association of Canada on Saturday, April 18, in Lower Sackville. Mr. Davidson is author of two Loyalist books, Burdens of Loyalty and Letters from Elly.

Attendees are encouraged to wear Loyalist Era clothing. Members of the 84th Regiment (Royal Highland Emigrants) re-enactment group will be appearing dressed in their uniforms.

The event will start at noon with a short business meeting for members only, followed by a light lunch ($5.00) at 1:00 p.m.

The public is invited to attend the event at 1:00 p.m. when Mr. Davidson will begin his presentation.

The event takes place at Faith Baptist Church, 299 Stokil Drive, Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia.
