GeneaPodcasters’ list of resources can help genealogy societies learn how to podcast

If your genealogy society has thought about producing podcasts, but doesn’t know how to do so, genealogist Marian Pierre-Louis has created a list of resources on her website, GeneaPodcasters, that may help.

The resources include video tutorials, books, and of course, podcasts. Ms. Pierre-Louis has also listed what equipment is required. For example, a starter kit may cost you as little as $20. The audio editing software is free.

The GeneaPodcasters website was started in July 2014 as a resource for learning how to listen to podcasts and how to create podcasts.

GeneaPodcasters also provides links to genealogy podcasts in the Directory section. The list of podcast resources and equipment are available in Learn to Podcast.

Listening to a podcast is like listening to a radio program, but you can listen to it on your computer, cell phone, or tablet. Some people upload podcasts to their iPod so they can listen to a program while exercising.

The British Isles Family History Society of Greater Ottawa produces podcasts of interviews with speakers who will be presenting at their next meeting and posts them on their website.
