The Treaty of Paris, signed on February 10, 1763 by Britain, France, and Spain, is on display for the first time in North America at the Musée de la Civilisation in Quebec City until October 2. (It first went on display September 23.)
The signing of the treaty marked the end of the Seven Years’ War and the beginning of Britain’s dominance outside Europe. In North American, Britain gained much of France’s possessions, creating the basis for the modern country of Canada.
The very fragile document is owned by the government of France.
