Another gift for the holidays!
More than 71,000 marriages that took place in Ontario in 1943 were uploaded yesterday to Ancestry. There are more than 10 million Ontario marriages, from 1826 to 1943, on the website.
Now that the 1943 marriages have been uploaded, does that mean the 1953 death records aren’t far behind?
In September 2024, the Archives of Ontario confirmed with Ken McKinlay that the 1943 marriages and 1953 deaths were being “actively being digitized and processed for online release.” At the time, they were unable to provide a release date.
Perhaps by spring, we’ll see the Ontario birth registrations for 1918, along with the death registrations for 1953.
Ancestry added Ontario births for 1917 way back in July 2023. This year in March, Ancestry added death records for 1951 and 1952.
