The Archives of Ontario announced that it is scheduled to launch a new website this fall to “make it easier to access our records and services.”
Researchers can look forward to improved navigation and streamlined information.
The provincial archives plans to make it easier to find online copies of records by bringing related content together in one place.
There will be a new Topic pages that will showcase what has already been digitized, while helping users navigate the collections and services.
When the new site launches, the most popular Research Guides (including wills and estate files, divorce records and land records) will become dedicated Topic pages.
There will also be a What’s New section to keep researchers informed about the latest news, collections and online exhibits.
For a quick preview, you can watch a 53-second video on the Archives of Ontario’s home page.
Presentation suggestion
Once the website is launched, a virtual presentation about how to navigate the new website would be a good one for a genealogy society to schedule.
