MyHeritage discontinues DNA uploads from other companies

Back in May, we knew it was coming, and now it’s here.

MyHeritage will no longer allow users to upload DNA data from other testing companies, such as Ancestry and FamilyTreeDNA.

The genealogy company says, “To receive DNA matches and ethnicity reports on MyHeritage, we advise instead that you purchase a new MyHeritage DNA kit. Our kits are among the most affordable on the market, and you’ll get more value, such as the option to add a health upgrade.”

MyHeritage currently has a DNA database of 9.5 million.
