Irish Genealogy News publishes last blog post

There’s some sad news for genealogy blog readers who have Irish ancestors and benefitted a great deal from the almost 6,000 posts on Irish Genealogy News.

Yesterday, Claire Santry announced on her blog, Irish Genealogy News, that she had written her final blog post.

She wrote, “After 14 years and 5,764 blogposts, Irish Genealogy News is taking its leave. Kind of. There will be no new blogposts but those that have already been published will remain online for a while… probably until the domain name comes up for renewal.”

As someone who has a large number of Irish ancestors and relatives, I’m going to miss her frequent blog posts that reported on the latest Irish genealogy updates, developments and record releases. Many of her blog posts helped me with my research.

Ms. Santry’s website, Irish Genealogy Toolkit, will continue for the time being.

Sláinte, Claire. Thanks for all the great blog posts you’ve shared with us over the many years. You’ll be missed.
