New season of Finding Your Roots begins January 2 — Schedule now available

The tenth season of Finding Your Roots begins on Tuesday, January 2 on PBS, and the schedule with 18 celebrities and three non-celebrities is now available.

The first episode will feature Canadian singer Alanis Morrissette and American R&B singer and actress Ciara. It’s possible the program’s researchers focused on Ms. Morrisette’s paternal French Canadian roots in Quebec that go back to France, although websites, such as Geneanet, have already mapped out her family tree. Her father is also of Irish descent and her mother has Hungarian and Jewish ancestry.

The last episode, airing on April 9, will feature three non-celebrities who were chosen following a casting call in the US.

Thomas MacEntee has provided the complete schedule for the new season on his website, Genealogy Bargains.
