Provincial Archives of New Brunswick launches online database of scenic photos

The Provincial Archives of New Brunswick announced yesterday that they are “taking steps” to make more of their archival photographs available to view online.

A new online search portal has been created to view images by Saint John photographer Isaac Erb (Fonds P11) and the Lutes Collection (Fonds P10).

So far, 228 scenic photos by Isaac Erb (1846-1924) and 26 photos in the Lutes Collection are available to search and view in the online database.

Josh Green, manager, Media Unit, at the provincial archives said people should feel free to make use of these photos, but should credit the Provincial Archives of New Brunswick and include the reference number for each, such as Provincial Archives of New Brunswick P11.142.

Over time, the provincial archives plans to add finding aids to their website to help researchers locate records that interest them.
