ANESFHS’ Southern Ontario Group to host virtual presentation on Jacobite Aberdeenshire

The Aberdeen & North-East Scotland Family History Society’s research centre opened in 1987.

The Southern Ontario Group of the Aberdeen & North-East Scotland Family History Society will host the virtual presentation, The Story of Jacobite Aberdeenshire, presented by Mike Shepherd, on Saturday, February 25, at 10:00 a.m. Eastern time.

The Jacobites were not just bare-kneed highlanders: less well known is that our ancestors from NE Scotland also took a major part in the Jacobite uprisings between 1689 and 1746. Hear that story together with the tales of several individuals who were caught up in the tumult of the time.

All of the Southern Ontario Group’s meetings are free and open to the public.

If you are a member and want to register, log on to the society’s website and go to the Events page. Non-members may contact ontario@anesfhs.org.uk for an invitation. Learn more here.
