If you thought you missed Dave Obee’s webinar, Tracing Your Alberta Connections, scheduled for last Friday as part of Legacy Family Tree Webinars’ ‘O Canada’ series, don’t worry. It had to be re-scheduled.
If all goes according to the new plan, Legacy Family Tree Webinars will host the online presentation on Friday, August 26, at 2:00 p.m. Eastern time.
Webinar description: Alberta is unique among the 10 Canadian provinces. It was the last of the three Prairie provinces to be opened to homesteading, which meant land in that province was available just as quality homesteading land dried up in the United States. That brought a rush from south of the border, and the American influence is still felt today. There has been another mass influx of people eager to work in the energy industry. Many of the key sources used in researching your ancestors or cousins in Alberta are also unique, so local knowledge is essential. This session identifies those sources for you, and will help you get results in your searches.
Registration is required to watch the live presentation. Subscribers can download the syllabus.
As usual, the recording should be available soon afterward to watch for free for up to seven days in the webinar library. After that, it will be available to subscribers only.
