Free genealogy conference on military research from Legacy Family Tree Webinars this Saturday

This month’s free online genealogy conference from Legacy Family Tree Webinars takes place Saturday, July 23, and the theme of the five presentations is Military Research.

Because of different time zones, if you live in North America, you’ll be able to start watching Friday evening.

As with previous monthly conferences, this one will include five pre-recorded classes. Two classes are brand new and three classes are hand-selected and unlocked from the members-only webinar library. The syllabus material is also free.

These are the classes:

1. U.S. Revolutionary War: A Case Study Approach — New — by Craig R. Scott, MA, CG, FUGA

2. The Draft and the Selective Service System — New — by Michael L. Strauss, AG

3. Tracing Your Pre-WWI British Soldier by Paul Milner, FUGA, MDiv

4. Researching a Loyalist Soldier by Craig R. Scott, MA, CG, FUGA

5. Civil War Series: Pension Files and Beyond by Michael L. Strauss, AG

Viewing all five classes is free. There’s no registration necessary. Just visit www.FamilyTreeWebinars.com/Conference to watch as many as you want in the order you want.

The conference opens at 12:00 a.m. Greenwich Mean Time (7:00 p.m. Eastern time) on Saturday and concludes at 11:59 p.m. Hawaii Standard Time Saturday night, which I believe is 6:00 a.m. Eastern time Sunday.

Next month’s free conference will be about New England research.
