Free ‘Intro to Genealogy’ online course from MyHeritage

school@2x

MyHeritage’s free Introduction to Genealogy online course, launched yesterday, focuses on three main areas: family trees, historical records and research, and DNA testing.

Each section is divided into chapters and lessons that cover a range of topics for conducting family history research.

The 40 lessons may include short assignments and additional materials to practice what you’ve learned. There are also find quizzes to test your knowledge at different points along the way.

As the course title suggests, it has been created for beginners. Still, more experienced genealogists may want to take a look. There’s no need to follow the lessons in any particular order. It’s easy to pick and choose the lessons you want to follow, and they’re short.

The lecturers are Daniel Horowitz, Dana Drutman, David Allen Lambert, Ellen Kowitt, James M. Beidler, James Tanner, Mike Mansfield, Ran Snir, Sharon Monson, Shauna Hicks, and Thomas MacEntee.
