During the final week of January, there are two virtual Ontario Ancestors meetings — both today. One hosted is by the Scottish special interested group and the other by the Toronto Branch. The meetings and presentations are free and open to the public.

The times are in Eastern time.

Distorted Descent by Dr. Darryl Leroux

The monthly meeting will begin with a mini-presentation from Nancy Trimble on finding unindexed records on FamilySearch.

After the mini-presentation, Dr. Daryl Leroux, an expert on French-Canadian genealogy, will share findings from his 2019 book, Distorted Descent: White Claims to Indigenous Identity, which examines why increasing numbers of white French Canadians are identifying as Indigenous.

Registration is required.
