Highly recommended webinar on ‘The Time of Cholera: A Case Study about Historical Context’

Many times I’ve been told, if the opportunity presents itself to attend Alison Hare’s lecture on cholera, I must do so. She has delivered her popular lecture in Ottawa and Toronto and at several National Genealogical Society conferences in the United States, and I missed each of those events. Fortunately, now she’s going to deliver her always well-attended presentation online.

Legacy Family Tree Webinars in conjunction with The Board for Certification of Genealogists (BCG) will host the free webinar, The Time of Cholera: A Case Study about Historical Context, presented by Ms. Hare on Tuesday, July 20, at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time.

London’s cholera epidemic of 1854 is best known as the story of Dr. John Snow, the Broad Street water pump and a map. But who were the people who died? This session describes the discoveries made when a genealogist whose ancestor died in the epidemic sets out to identify the forgotten victims.

Register to watch the live webinar. The recording will be available in the webinar library to watch for free for up to seven days afterward. After that, you must be a subscriber to watch it.

BCG President LaBrenda Garrett-Nelson, JD, LLM, CG, CGL, says, “Every month the Board for Certification of Genealogists offers a new webinar as part of an ongoing series that supports our mission to provide education for family historians. These webinars are presented by certified associates and offer a quality genealogical educational experience. The board promotes excellence in research and working to standards in an ethical manner.”
