The program for the first ever Canadian Genealogical Virtual Research Institute (CGVRI) was released yesterday.

The CGVRI takes place July 18 to 23, 2021 and its goal is to provide in-depth instruction of Canadian genealogical topics by Canadian genealogists.
Directors Christine Woodcock and Kathryn Lake Hogan took some of their inspiration for the CGVRI from two other institutes, the Genealogical Institute of Pittsburgh and the Institute of Genealogy and Historical Research.
The CGVRI has two concurrent courses, each with 18 classes. One course is about immigration to Canada and the other is on researching Ontario and Quebec ancestors.
Classes are 75 minutes in length. There are four classes per day, Monday through Thursday, and two classes on Friday. Sunday is the welcome and overview, but you’ll have to bring your own wine and cheese to this virtual get-together.
Each course is limited to 36 students.
The full program, speaker biographies, fee, and registration are on the CGVRI website.
