Ancestry six-month subscriptions 50% off in Canada — and also on sale in the US

Ancestry.ca is starting the year by offering Canadians 50 percent off a six-month subscription, or you can try a one-month subscription.

The offer ends January 10.

Already have a subscription? Some people have said they called Ancestry to cancel and refund the balance of their current subscription so they could take advantage of the half-price offer. It may also be possible to extend your current subscription by one month or six months, but I’m not sure.

Remember that subscriptions auto-renew at the end of your subscription period and your payment method will be debited the then applicable rate. To avoid auto-renewing cancel at least two days before your renewal date by visiting My Account or calling 1-800-958-9073.

Ancestry.com has a sale for six-month subscriptions for Americans. This offer may end January 9.

At-home access to Ancestry’s library edition at many public libraries continues until March 31. The library edition does not give you access to online trees.
