The National Institute for Genealogical Studies course, Lecturing Skills Including Preparation, teaches the skills needed to present genealogical-related lectures, and one of their students, Darcy Hiltz, will deliver his presentation, Canadian Archives for Beginning Genealogists, as part of the requirement to complete the course.

Learn what is an archive, how to find, access materials, key practices that archivist employ, and what to expect upon your visit to help make your research as successful as possible.
Mr. Hiltz is an archivist/librarian who is interested in helping customers use archival and library resources to help meet their genealogy needs.
This will be a hands-on course where the student will presents lecture via the National Institute’s Virtual Learning Room. This is a 30-minute lecture, followed by a 10-minute question and answer period and a short poll to provide the student with feedback on his skills.
