Are you related to Alex Trebek?

Alex Trebek, the Canadian-born broadcaster who hosted the popular US game show Jeopardy! for more than 30 years, died yesterday at the age of 80. The TV legend had been battling stage 4 pancreatic cancer since announcing the news back in March 2019.

News of his death spread quickly on social media and generated a huge outpouring of sympathy.

Mr. Trebek was born on July 22, 1940, in Sudbury, Ontario. He was the son of George Trebek and Lucille Lagacé.

On his mother’s side, he is descended from some of the earliest European settlers in New France, including Vincent Renaud who was a soldier from La Rochelle, France.
