AncestryDNA kits on sale in Canada until December 27

My cousin gave me my most exciting Christmas gift this year.

After receiving her AncestryDNA kit more than 14 months ago and after several reminders from me, she finally provided a saliva sample in the tube and gave it to me for mailing. She offered to mail it, but I believed I’d mail it more quickly and offered to do so.

My late father was from a family of ten children, and I’ve been working at testing my father’s siblings who are still alive. In the case where an aunt or uncle has passed away, I have been trying to test at least one of their descendants.

This is the closest I can get to recreating my grandparents’ genetic profile. The more people I test, the greater chance I have of finding most of the Dever and Haire chromosomes.

AncestryDNA kit sale
If you haven’t had a chance or inclination to delve into the world of genetic genealogy, Ancestry is making an enticing Boxing Day offer to Canadians that ends Friday, December 27, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern time.

This is the lowest price we’ve seen in Canada.

Through Ancestry.ca or Amazon.ca, AncestryDNA kits are on sale for $79 — down from $129.

If you order through Ancestry, there is a $20 shipping charge. If you order through Amazon.ca, shipping is free, with or without Amazon Prime.

I like the AncestryDNA test. It has the largest pool of results, where more than 15 million people have tested. You can also upload your AncestryDNA results for free to MyHeritage, FamilyTreeDNA, and GEDmatch.
