The Public Archives and Record Office (PARO) of Prince Edward Island has uploaded the index of thousands of death registrations, from 1965 to 1968. Until as recently as the end of June, death registrations were available online only from 1906 to 1964.
Genealogists can search for baptisms, marriages and deaths in the PARO Database. While an image of the original record is not available online, basic information is provided, along with a link to contact the archives for a copy of the original.
Death records are added to the PARO Database every month, so check from time to time for new additions.
Also available online are:
- Baptisms (including the former PEI Baptismal Index, 1777-1923)
- Marriage licences, 1827-1919 (includes digitized originals, 1827-1888)
- Marriage registrations, 1920-1936
- Deaths, pre-1906

I cannot get this to search. It asks for an Accession Number which I do not have and when I enter in a surname, ie Budgell, and hit search – nothing happens. Not even an error message,
I entered Budgell in the keyword box and got zero results, suggesting there are no records for that time period. Try Smith to test the search engine.
