Montreal’s Concordia University yesterday published an interview with alumna Leslie Weir, who will become the first woman to assume the post of Canada’s Librarian and Archivist this Friday, August 30.

The interview focuses almost solely on the library side of Library and Archives Canada, which is perhaps not surprising given her background.
On the archival side, Ms. Weir did say she looks forward to a number of projects, including “initiatives with our Indigenous peoples, like documenting and protecting languages and digitizing records that will support Truth and Reconciliation and decolonization.”
The interview is available on Concordia’s website.
