Sunday, May 25, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., is Montréal Museums Day when 34 museums across the island will open their doors for free to the public. Free shuttle service will also be available. For details, the list of participating museums, and shuttle routes, visit the Montréal Museums Day website.
The Guide to Montréal Museums Day provides good tips about how to make the most of the day, such as how to beat the line-ups on the shuttle service: “If you plan on taking advantage of the free bus shuttles and also want to avoid losing part of your day waiting in a long lineup, avoid the central departure location. Instead, plan the beginning of your day at the first stop of a given route … where it’s generally less congested.”
Montréal Museums Day has been held the last Sunday of May since 1986.
