Webinar — Locating and learning more about ancestral villages

The Southern California Genealogical Society will host a free webinar, You Located the Ancestral Village of Your Ancestor — Now What?, presented by Nancy Waters Lauer, today, November 21, at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time.

Now that the ancestral village of your ancestor has been located, how do you find out more information? Explore the next steps overcoming barriers like language and an ocean. Topics will include resources for locating the ancestral village, problems encountered, resources other than archives, translation options, and what to expect in return and how to evaluate.

Nancy Waters Lauer is a researcher, lecturer, college instructor, and award-winning author whose extensive speaking experience includes NGS, FGS, BYU, Rootstech. She is an instructor at HCC, Maryland, teaching MS applications and is past Managing Editor, MGS Journal. Lauer’s books have won the 1997 Heart of America Genealogical Society Award of Excellence, the 2007 NGS Writing Competition Award for Excellence, and the 2007 Maryland Historical Society, Sumner A. Parker Award.
