The Ontario Genealogical Society will host the free webinar, Navigating Online Sources for Irish Research, presented by Donna Moughty, on Thursday, September 6, at 7:00 p.m. Eastern time.
The loss of records at the Public Records Office in the 1922 fire was devastating but many of the surviving records are now available online. The number of major records that have become available online in the past few years is amazing. Images of civil registration records are now online, as well as images of Roman Catholic records have revolutionized the way we research in Ireland. In addition, new records are becoming available almost weekly from multiple sources.
Since there are no complete record sets in Ireland prior to civil registration in 1864, it’s important to search any source that becomes available that covers the time and place where our ancestors lived.
Register here to watch live. A recording will be available afterward for OGS members.
