MyHeritage responds to customers, and makes improvements

MyHeritage is listening to what their customers want, making changes, and showing they clearly have their competitors in their sightline.

To demonstrate they take customer service “very seriously,” MyHeritage announced they are now offering customer support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Daniel Horowitz, genealogy expert at MyHeritage, said, “We are probably the first and only family history and DNA company to provide round-the-clock support.”

MyHeritage also announced they have added two new features to make navigating the list of DNA matches easier. These features were requested by users at the RootsTech conference in Utah in February.

Users can now jump to a specific page of matches, or increase how many matches are displayed on each page.

MyHeritage also fixed the distant relationship estimates for DNA matches with relatively little shared DNA which used to be displayed as “3rd cousin – 5th cousin.” Now, the more distant matches are listed as “3rd cousin – distant cousin,” which is more correct because in reality they might even be your 6th or 7th cousins.

While these improvements may seem minor in the grand scheme of things, they do make it easier to check DNA matches on MyHeritage.

And responding quickly to customers is always a good thing.

Reminder: If you have tested your DNA with Ancestry, FamilyTreeDNA, or 23andMe, you can upload your results to MyHeritage for free.
