Genealogy Quebec adds Catholic marriages for 1917

The Drouin Institute announced yesterday all Quebec Catholic marriages for 1917 have been added to its website, Genealogy Quebec, in the LAFRANCE collection.

This means there are now about 900,000 Quebec Catholic marriages on Genealogy Quebec, from the arrival of the first French settlers in the early 17th century to 1917, including links to images of the original church records.

In addition, more than two million Quebec Catholic baptisms and burials for the period, 1621 to 1849, are on the website. They are now updating baptism and burial records for the 1850-1861 period, and have completed about 80 percent.

All Quebec Protestant marriages, 1760-1849, can also be found on the website.

Genealogy Quebec is a subscription-based website. Users can subscribe for one day, one month, or one year. Some libraries offer the website at home and/or on site access.
