Free access to Findmypast BMDs and census records

All of Findmypast’s birth, marriage, death and census records — for the UK, Ireland, Canada, US, and Australia — are free to access until May 1, 2017.

That means, when using the category search on the site, any records you explore under the Birth, Marriage & Death (Parish Registers) category or the census sub-category are completely free to view.

To get started, you must register for a free account or sign in to your account with your email address and the password you used in the past. It is easy, without any rigmarole. You will not be asked to provide your credit card number.

While Findmypast is still weak on the Canadian side, you will find an interesting collection of Ontario birth, marriage and burial records, generally organized by parish. Findmypast has a larger collection of American records, but its strength still lies in the UK and Irish records they offer.

The free-access offer is good on the North American site, findmypast.com, and at findmypast.co.uk.
