BC Genealogical Society conference to celebrate Canadian ancestry

The British Columbia Genealogical Society’s Canada 150 Seminar features an all-Canadian line-up of speakers and it takes place June 9 to 11, 2017 in Coquitlam, British Columbia. To mark the country’s 150th anniversary, the theme of the three-day event is Celebrating Our Canadian Ancestors.

The society says this is a “great opportunity to further your Canadian genealogy and family history research.”

The three-day seminar kicks off on the Friday evening with a keynote address by the knowledgeable and entertaining, Dave Obee, who will talk about A Sense of Place and Time: Putting Ancestors in Context.

Saturday is when presentations will be delivered by Claire Smith-Burns, Mary Read, Dave Obee, Xenia Stanford, and Susanne Sulzberger. On Sunday, participants will tour Fraser Cemetery in New Westminster.

You can register for all three days or just one or two.

Visit the British Columbia Genealogical Society website for details.

Thanks for posting the information about our upcoming seminar, Claire! There’s definitely something for everyone – Eastern Europe research, British resources, the Prairie Provinces, and more. We’re getting very excited about the opportunities here on this weekend in June. Cheers!
