OGS Halton-Peel Region Branch extends Canada150 story deadline

The deadline for the Halton-Peel Region Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society’s Canada150 story project has been extended. People now have until June 1, 2017 to submit stories about their ancestors and the settlers and lived in Halton and Peel Counties before 1867.

The branch is looking for stories that range from one paragraph to a page in length. Why did your ancestors come to Canada? Where did they settle? The branch plans to publish the stories in a booklet this June.

Send your story in Word format to Kathy Baker at kebaker1900@gmail.com. Photos are also welcome.

With the extended deadline, I hope to submit a story about my great-great-grandparents, George Gooderham and Emily Burrows, who settled in Brampton in 1862. Emily’s father and siblings also lived there.

  2. Kathy says:

To include all settlers/ancestors who lived in Halton and Peel Counties.
