I suspect there are more people with Scottish ancestry per capita in Nova Scotia than in any other Canadian province. If that is the case, the Genealogical Association of Nova Scotia’s (GANS) Scottish genealogy symposium in Halifax next month should be a big success.
The one-day event will be held on Saturday, October 15, and will feature guest speaker Christine Woodcock from Ontario.
Ms. Woodcock will deliver four presentations: In Search of Your Scottish Ancestors, Lesser Known Databases for Scottish Genealogy Research, Breaking Through Brick Walls, and They Came from Scotland.
The conference fee, including lunch, for GANS members is $50; $65 for non-members. Details available on the GANS home page. Note that the registration deadline is October 8.
