    In 2014 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Hillcrest mine disaster, the community held a weekend recognition. Belle Kovach and her sister, Mary Bole, wrote an excellent book called Snowing in June which outlines the event as well as the genealogy of the lost miners. Well worth a look and a mention.
