Winnipegger Martin Berman was an avid collector of historic postcards, dating back to the early 1900s. He passed away in 2013, and his family donated his collection to the City of Winnipeg.

After the library scanned the photos, the physical collection was sent to the City of Winnipeg Archives and Records Control Branch where it will be physically housed.

You can search or browse the Martin Berman Postcard Collection here.

The Winnipeg Public Library’s PastForward is an online resource to preserve the public history of Winnipeg and the surrounding region. The collections on the site include city directories from 1880 to 1965 and more than 1,500 images of Winnipeg. You can browse through history, look for familiar places or people, and add your own comments to enrich the site. All content on PastForward is in the public domain and are available to download, print and share.
