After 55 years of preserving the history of the city, the Civic Museum of Regina (formerly Regina Plains Museum) will close its doors to the public August 31 and will be permanently dissolved by December 31, 2015.
Rob Deglau, president of the museum, said, “The Civic Museum of Regina is the only museum in the city with a mandate to collect and preserve the artifacts that tell the story of historic development of Regina and of the people who helped form this capital city. Unfortunately, our museum receives less annual operational funding than other civic museums in Saskatchewan […].”
