Offer to promote Canadian history, archive, and genealogy organizations at WDYTYA! still open

It was good to read in both the Ontario Genealogical Society’s (OGS) weekly e-newsletter and on Penny Allen’s blog, UK to Canada Genealogy, that OGS has accepted Ms. Allen’s offer to participate at the Who Do You Think You Are Live! event in Birmingham, England in April.

Ms. Allen, who is a Canadian genealogist now living in England, wants other genealogical and historical organizations to know her offer is still open to them. All she needs is their promotional material and for them to share the cost of the table/booth that she will manage on their behalf.

She wants to represent and promote Canadian organizations that have resources that will help genealogists with their research.Ontario Genealogical SocietyIn its announcement about WDYTYA!, OGS said, “We are inviting other Canadian genealogical societies and organizations to join us at the Show, where Penny will represent us to the thousands of attendees anticipated.”

Last November, Ms. Allen reached out to Canadian genealogical and historical societies, museums, archival centres, vendors, and other related organizations to help publicize what they offer to those who live across the pond.

When first promoting her offer, Ms. Allen wrote, “If you are a Family History Society, send me your promotional material. If you are a Museum/Archive, send me your promotional material. If you are a Commercial Vendor, send me your promotional material. I will sell, promote and talk to customers until I am hoarse, on behalf of your organization using whatever material you send my way.”

As for the OGS eWeekly Update, it is free and sent by email every Saturday to members and non-members, and every edition is full of good genealogy information. All you need to do is subscribe.
